Sharon Butler Born in Weston-Super Mare, England, and raised in South Africa, Sharon studied art privately during her childhood. Returning to live in Wales in the late 60's, she attended the University of Art and Design before returning to live in Africa until the early 70's. Influenced by her African childhood, Sharon Butler has had a life-long interest in African and American Indian Art with an on-going fascination with native form, design and color. Sharon works in all mediums, but prefers acrylics, with which she can obtain a beaded, three dimensional effect - a signature technique for which she is well known. Some of her works are museum pieces which she has photographed and recreated. Additional works include pieces which depict certain tribes, using authentic designs of that tribe creating her own artists design not only in subject but in color. Sharon's work is represented in collections in Europe, Africa, and the United States. During her career she has won numerous awards and ribbons, being recognized for her unique style.
